Mapping our Students´ University Journeys and Career Paths

With a St. George’s education, our students have a world of opportunities open to them.

Our university and career planning programme ensures that each student meets their true potential. Starting as early as Year 9 and 10, our students are encouraged to explore possible career pathways, and to discover their strengths and passions. Every student’s needs are personal and different, so a range of services are organised to support them.

Our Career Counsellors

Our in-house Career Counsellors support our students with university information sessions, university fairs, discuss their course choices for the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma or IB Career-related Programme, help clarify their ideas through career days and begin to plan their application pathways.

In Sixth Form (Year 12 and Year 13), students are made aware of university selection procedures, taught how to create strong profiles, and are well prepared for university or apprenticeship applications. They learn how to write personal statements - or motivational letters, as they are commonly called in Germany - and are introduced to the main information systems, such as BridgeU and Unifrog.

With a unique, challenging and diverse education, pupils are ready to successfully engage in further education and the rapidly changing world.

The Application Process

For each focus country, sessions are organised to provide specific information about how to apply, requested deliverables, and deadlines, as they can vary significantly. There are some application platforms where students can apply to multiple universities with the same documents, whereas other universities have their own unique application processes and even exams.

Our in-house experts closely monitor and explain these details to our pupils, ensuring they are well-prepared and to avoid any surprises. We also inform students about early applications, as some processes start before entering Year 13. In such cases, our students are requested to complete their personal statements before or during the summer.

Main Areas of Study

Our graduates go onto to pursue study in a number of areas. The main ones are:

Business Management, Medicine, Biochemistry, Psychology, Arts, Biological Sciences, Engineering, Law, English and Computer Science.

University Destinations

Our students have access to a wide selection of universities whether in Germany or abroad. The most popular university destinations are in the US, the UK, the Netherlands and Germany.

At St. George´s, we ensure that our pupils go above and beyond in their approach to university applications and guide them to reach and exceed their goals.

Don´t forget to mark your calendar for the next University Fair at our school, which will take place on 11 September. We will showcase around 20 universities mainly from Europe and the US, who will introduce themselves and provide guidance, information and inspiration to our students.
