Lower School / Middle School House System

We have a successful House System which operates across Lower School and Middle School where the Houses are named after famous authors. There are common competitions, allowing both sections to work together.  Pupils participate in mixed age group events across through the school year, ensuring that our pupils know their older peers, can act as role models to our younger pupils and learn important skills such as leadership and teamwork.

Throughout the year, pupils receive points which contribute to the house competitions. Your child will receive house points as rewards for things such as good behavior, good work, and good attitude. You can also achieve extra points for your house through house events

Upper School / Sixth Form House System

As we have expanded the year groups in Upper School and Sixth form to a four form entry, in Cologne. We have the opportunity to reallocate pupils into new Houses in year 10, thus allowing all of one form to be in the same House. This enhances House unity and identification. Each Form Room has a House Flag and Form Tutors act as Heads of Houses, encouraging the friendly competition between the Houses. There is a calendar of half termly House competitions, one sporting and one academic / creative. Each pupil represents their House in at least one of these events. This assists with vertical integration and ensures that the pupils know each other across year groups.
