Our Governance

SUB-MENU

Founded by Marietta Horton in 1985, St. George’s The British International School has always strived to offer a high-quality international education within a distinctively British environment.

From small beginnings, with just 15 pupils in Cologne, the school has expanded into three purpose-built sites in key German cities: Cologne, Düsseldorf Rhein-Ruhr and Munich. Throughout this impressive growth, we believe that we have managed to maintain a family atmosphere in the schools, focussed on our vision and values.

Since we first opened, St. George’s has been independent and family-owned. Our board still consists almost exclusively of members of the founding family, who are represented on a day-to-day basis since 2006 by the Managing Director Stuart Horton, the son of the founder. Mr Horton works alongside our other board members, who have high levels of expertise in education, effective management practices and corporate finance.

St. George’s Schools all adhere to a common set of standards developed by the schools in liaison with the Managing Director. Within this framework, each school is run by its School Director, who is the key contact for all parents at the school.

Parents can make an appointment with the School Director by contacting the School Office. If you would like to contact the board of the St. George’s School Group, you can do so using the contact form on this website or by telephoning us on +49 2233 808870.
